The Milestone.

2009 marked the 40th anniversary for the World Series Of Poker or WSOP for short. This celebratory event was held in, where else but, Las Vegas, Nevada and was accommodated by the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino. The tournament spanned an impressive 49 days running from the 27th of May 2009 to the 15th of July 2009. With 57 bracelet events there were 60,878 entrants. The total amount of money won in these 57 events was $33,350,373.

With literally tens of thousands of entrants in the various tournaments it wouldn’t be wise to list them all here, there are just far too many but here the names of the winners of all 57 bracelet events and the statistics of each will be listed over the space of three articles.

And the winner is:

Game twelve was an important $10,000 world championship mixed event which consisted of 194 players and Villie Wahlbeck winning $492,375.

The thirteenth game proved that the number thirteen isn’t unlucky for everyone with the game being a $2,500 no limit hold’em game with 1088 entrants. Keven Stammen won the pot of $506,786.

Game Number Fourteen was a $2,500 limit hold’em short hand game with Brock Parker winning out of 367 entrants to take the pot of $223,688.

The fifteenth game consisted of 655 eager entrants all wanting to win the $5,000 no limit hold’em game. Brian Lemke was the winner in the end taking a $692,658 pot.

The World Series Of Poker. We all knew it was popular but to this extent? It is impressive just how many people entered.
